Tired out...

Thursday was a busy day...

A couple of our daycare friends were spending the day

Some other friends stopped in too...expected & unexpected :)

I so enjoyed the company of some other Momma's,
amidst the chaos of many noisy children.

We talked

We played

All in all, a good & busy day!

I realized later just how busy a day it was...

Just before dinner

Little S. fell fast asleep at the top of the stairs....Zzzz!
He was tired out!!!
Still thankful for the company of friends and family...Happy day to you!

"I'm rich!"

"For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich." II Corinthians 8:9

Our J. was rummaging through a drawer last night and found his $2.00 that had gone missing a short time ago. As he makes the discovery, he declares, "I knew it, I'm rich!"

His child-like faith is amazing to me... Just $2 and he believes he is rich. He trusts with just a little his needs will be met. He's right, we are rich!!! We are rich through God's grace. We are blessed with an abundant & rich life.

The next time I stumble upon a few dollars, I too am going to say, "I'm rich, Thank you Jesus, You have made me rich!" And know I am not rich because of the little money I hold but because of what Jesus did for ME!

Happy Friday...Have a good weekend!!!

My Father :)

Spent some time this weekend visiting my parents

As I talked with my Dad, I shared with him that my anxiety
toward our adoption details had fallen away some.

And a sense of peace has come over me.... A new trust...
in God's plan for me and (all) my children.

I have JOY for today!!!

My Dad said this is an answer to his prayers for me!

Isn't he the best...

No matter where life has us for the time being... I am grateful
knowing my Dad (and Mom) holds me up in prayer to our heavenly Father - asking for His will, blessings, peace, and joy!

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6

So today I give great THANKS for my dear ole Dad & my Father in heaven who loves me with
a sweet unconditional love... Who gives wisdom but also waits patiently on his daughter.

And once again I will rest in my Lord... Trusting in His plans for me... Giving thanks for all things!

Happy Monday :)

Puppy Love

I know we are weeks behind the rest.

But we finally saw the "heart-warming" movie this weekend...

"Marley and Me"

We loved it!

We can so relate to the loyal unconditional love given by a dog.
Gidget was our first baby ... and was with us for 16 wonderful years.
She was a 50lb. bundle of love.

Gidget welcomed home 3 of our
children ... And was very much part
of our family. We still miss her.

"Hattie girl" became part of our home in the fall of 2007.
She quickly moved into the hearts of our family. She's an energetic & mischevious puppy... And
though she can lots of trouble, she is loved by each one of us!

We are thankful for the simple blessings even a family dog can give in life.

And when the day comes, we imagine her welcoming home & loving our child(ren) from Ethiopia ... the same as us! In God's perfect timing.

15 years!

We're Celebrating our 15th Wedding anniversary!

As we stop and reflect back, we find ourselves amazed at the life we've had together...And feel blessed beyond measure!

On our 15th year of marriage...

We are the parents of 5 children

4 in our arms + 1 beautiful baby girl in heaven

And we are on a journey of the heart to bring "our" child(ren) home from Ethiopia.

I love you!

Happy Anniversary Sweetheart!

"This is my beloved, and this is my friend." Song of Solomon 5:16

"Thank you" for all of the encouragement given to us for our adoption journey, thus far.

We have been lifted up by your kind, thoughful, and supportive comments, inquiries, and most importantly prayers...We are blessed!

We are excited to be preparing details for an adoption "Walk-a-thon". Perfect for the whole family. Details are still in the works but be sure to Mark Your Calendars for Saturday, May 9th. More information coming soon!!!

On the home front: We are all just busy doing life...together....joyfully...one day at a time :)

DJ continues to work hard for his family. His job has picked up some...PTL!...Although, hours have not yet increased... We are trusting in God's provisions.

M. continues to be busy playing volleyball and recently doing lots of babysitting-which she is really enjoying.

E. sold 200 boxes of Girl Scout cookies last month. We were proud of the many "stretching" phone calls she made to reach her goal. Good Job!

J. is doing great in Kindergarten. He practices reading sight words and making letter sounds many times during our week...Way to go!

S. keeps us busy being "3". He's full of energy & curiousity... Sharing his many discoveries with us all. S. also enjoys going to school with Momma to serve lunch a couple times a month. He feels like a big kid there, hanging out with his siblings.

We continue to plug away at doing what we can in our adoption journey... the paper work goes on and on. But as I mentioned before, it's nice to have tangible things to do on our end. We're looking forward to applying for our I-600A in the near future... Yeah!!!

Thank you for stopping by... Thank you for your prayers & support... Thank you!

Many blessings this week from our family to yours!
