In 2014...

Hey blog world! Have we lost you yet? Crazy to think that it's been over a year since either one of us has written here. My mom and I both enjoy writing a lot, so it surprises me that it's taken this long for the blog to get a face lift and some words jotted down.

2014 was a crazy year and time really did fly by! To think we're already 3 months into 2015 blows my mind. Life has journeys and adventures and they all seem to come and go so fast. We can never catch a break before the next thing comes up. But with a family of seven life just gets busy and you have to keep your priorities straight and put what's most important at the top of the list.

Some memories that we did enjoy were:

Celebrating mom & dad's 20th anniversary
Our angel baby, Laura Grace, turned 10 years old in heaven
E & M went to their first prom
The summer was full of soccer games and a break from school
We moved again
E & M went on a youth group trip to Kansas City
August started my (Michlyn) senior year of high school
Mom & I went on my senior class trip to Wisconsin Dells
Finished high school volleyball and that was so bittersweet
I got accepted into my #1 college for this Fall (2015)
Celebrated Christmas as a family & welcomed the new year

In between all of that we fit in work schedules, dad coaching J's soccer team, co-op/adoption groups, school meetings, volleyball games, projects, searching for a house, everyone's birthdays, seeing friends, driving all around to get everyone to the right place, going to church & youth group, and any other possible event that we could fit in.

Thanks for following along for all these years! We'll be trying to post more and keep the blog updated through 2015, as it will be a big year full of new transitions and fun times ahead!

xoxo,
~Michlyn

Two People Fell in Love

One beautiful bride

Married one handsome man

They both said 'I do'

They had the rings

And after 6 years of dating...

They were married!

It's been 18 years today... That my parents were married. Including dating and being engaged, they've been together 25 years! WOW!

God couldn't of put peanut butter & jelly together better than the way He put my parents together!

I can see their love every single day.

18 years, 4 dogs, 1 apartment, 2 houses, and 6 kids later...

Their family grew...

and grew

and grew

and grew

and grew

and grew...

To this day they're still deeply in love...

They've been through everything together

Getting used to marriage
The birth of 5 children
Welcoming their baby girl to heaven
Bringing their little girl home from Ethiopia
Moved to a new house
Laid off from jobs
Switching jobs
Having family dogs
And the list goes on...

They are stronger, God has stretched them, guided them, heard their prayers, and they've stuck with each other through it all!

Happy 18 years Mom & Dad!

We love you!
Your 6 kiddos

I Wish...

Sometimes...

I wish teachers wouldn't give out so much homework

I wish my mom didn't get hurt while she tries to be the best momma she can be

I wish I had the stylish clothes and shoes ever

I wish my siblings weren't so mean or disrespectful

I wish I could please the Lord in a better way and more often

I wish my attitude was always good

I wish that making hard decisions wasn't so...well...hard

I wish the truth in some situations wasn't so hard to say

I wish that the house was always clean

I wish my makeup, hair, and face was always spotless and perfect

I wish that I didn't get so jealous over ridiculous things

I wish my dad had a better boss and a higher paycheck

I wish that money didn't get in the way of so much stuff

I wish that hearts could never be broken

I wish that there were so orphans in this world

I wish friends wouldn't lie and make things so complicated

I wish driving was a piece of cake and could be done with no possible accidents

I wish politicians could make decisions that help everyone

I wish athletes didn't have to get hurt and ruin their dreams

I wish that no one got sick and would stay healthy

I wish that I could take amazing pictures

I wish... I wish... I wish...

BUT

I know... That our God performs miracles and that some of the things above could eventually be fixed.

Nothing is impossible with God!

risky business...

At the "risk" of seeming less then the fabulous house keeper that I am [LOL!],
I have to ask....?

Does it ever seem like "momma's" the only one in your house that can [sometimes] SEE the dishes that need to be washed? Or is that "super power" exclusively mine? :D

Off to do that wonderful job now ...  praying for the beautiful people who dirtied the dishes as I work.

ho hum!

a dish washing momma,

the "brown sweater" ...

It's not often these days I (Becky) find the time to blog...[Thanks to Michlyn, our blog hasn't gone completely ignored]  but after picking up our youngest 2 pictures wearing "the brown sweater"
I just had to post them all.

My dear M.I.L. knit the sweater for DJ when he was a little boy : )
*I have absolutely no idea where she found the time with 4 young children - but then again she truly never seizes to amaze me with her selfless, kindhearted ways!*

We've now had each of our children's picture taken in the precious keepsake as well.
Ages of each are between 4 & 5 years old...

S. 5 y.o.

J. 5 y.o. (now 8)
E. 5 y.o. (now 13)
M. 4 y.o. (now 14)
DJ - 5 y.o. (now the Daddy to our many blessings)
T. 5 y.o.

Blessings,

~ Becky
